How we handle your information
Effective date: May 22, 2026
Who we are
Fore the Kids Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Overland Park, Kansas. We raise money through local events, sponsorships, and donations, and we direct that money to youth mental health projects at Children's Mercy and other partner organizations across the Kansas City region.
This policy explains what information we collect through forethekidskc.org, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it.
Information you give us
We collect information you enter directly on this site or through the services we use:
- Contact form. Your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you write in the message field.
- Donations. Donations are processed through GiveCloud, which collects your name, billing address, email, and payment details. Fore the Kids does not store your full credit card number. That information stays with our payment processor.
- Event registration and ticketing. Event tickets, sponsorships, raffle entries, and auction bidding are handled on OneCause. When you register for an event, OneCause collects your contact and payment information and shares registration details with us.
- Newsletter signup. Your email address, if you choose to subscribe.
- Volunteer interest. The contact information you provide when you reach out about volunteering.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we collect some technical information automatically when you visit. This includes your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or search that referred you.
This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies. A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device to remember information about your visit.
Analytics and advertising tools we use
We use the following third-party tools on this site:
- Google Analytics. Helps us understand how people find and use the site, which pages get read, and where visitors drop off. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data on our behalf.
- Google tags (gtag.js). The tagging framework that sends event and conversion data to Google Analytics and, where applicable, Google Ads. It lets us see which pages and campaigns lead to donations, ticket purchases, and form submissions.
- Meta Pixel. A piece of code from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) that records actions you take on this site, such as viewing a page or completing a donation. We use it to measure how our social posts and ads perform and to show relevant messages to people who have visited the site.
These tools may combine the information they collect here with information they already hold about you from other sites and services. Their use of that data is governed by their own privacy policies, not ours.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process donations and send you a receipt
- Register you for events and send event details, updates, and changes
- Respond when you contact us with a question or a sponsorship inquiry
- Send newsletters and impact updates if you have asked to receive them
- Acknowledge and recognize donors and sponsors, where recognition is part of a sponsorship
- Understand how the site is used so we can improve it
- Measure whether our outreach and advertising are working
- Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations as a nonprofit
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade donor lists.
We share information only in these situations:
- Service providers. Companies that run parts of this site and our operations on our behalf, including GiveCloud for donation processing, DonorPerfect for donor and event records, OneCause for event ticketing and auctions, Webflow for site hosting, and our email service provider. These companies may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Analytics and advertising partners. Google and Meta, as described above.
- Legal requirements. If we are required to disclose information by law, subpoena, or court order, or if disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a person or to investigate fraud.
- Public recognition. Sponsor names and logos may be displayed on this site or at events as part of a sponsorship agreement. Individual donor names are not published without permission.
Your choices
Cookies. Most browsers let you refuse cookies or delete cookies already stored. Blocking cookies may cause parts of this site to work incorrectly. Instructions are in your browser's help or settings menu.
Google Analytics. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Google ad personalization. You can control how Google personalizes ads at myadcenter.google.com.
Meta ad preferences. You can adjust the ads you see from Meta in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings at facebook.com/settings?tab=ads.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a Do Not Track signal or a Global Privacy Control signal. There is no common industry standard for how sites should respond to Do Not Track, and this site does not currently respond to it. Where required by law, we honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information, though we do not sell personal information in any case.
How long we keep information
We keep donor and event records for as long as needed to maintain our financial and tax records, meet nonprofit reporting requirements, and support our ongoing relationship with you. Contact form submissions are kept only as long as needed to answer your question and follow up. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings in Google Analytics.
If you want your information removed from our records, email us and we will remove what we are not legally required to keep.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections on this site and reputable third-party processors for payment handling. No method of transmitting or storing data online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
Fore the Kids funds programs that serve children, but this website is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
If you are a young person looking for help, you do not need to give us any information. Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, any time, free and confidential.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or opt out of certain uses. To make a request, email us using the contact information below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Links to other sites
This site links to third-party sites, including Children's Mercy, our partner organizations, our event ticketing platform, and our donation platform. Once you leave forethekidskc.org, this policy no longer applies. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Mental health resources on this site
Fore the Kids is a fundraising organization, not a healthcare provider. The resources listed on this site are provided for information only and are not a substitute for professional care. We do not collect health information, and nothing you read here creates a provider relationship.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our site, tools, or legal obligations change. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
