Why This Matters

Before the mission changed, the purpose was the same: make a hard day easier for a kid.

Before the shift to youth mental health, Fore the Kids funded projects across nearly every corner of Children's Mercy. The purpose was consistent throughout: make a child's experience a little brighter during the hardest moments.

That work included laptops and technology for long-term patient rooms, bedside units for the Burn Center, iPads for Child Life, the Blue Valley Sports Medicine Clinic, the hospital's canine therapy program, Leo's Place, and three fully equipped pediatric ambulances including the first dedicated 24-hour transport unit.
