Why This Matters
Families in crisis arrive at the emergency department. Now there is a room built for them.
Opened in December 2025 within the emergency department at Children's Mercy, the center gives families a safe and healing environment during an acute mental health crisis.
The facility carries the Fore the Kids Foundation name, the result of a multi-year commitment from local events and sponsors.
