The first thing we funded after 2017 was putting help where the students already were.
This was the first investment Fore the Kids made after shifting its focus to youth mental health. The partnership with Blue Valley School District began in 2017 and the placements were funded in 2020 and 2021.
Twenty Children's Mercy social workers were embedded directly in schools so that students could get support before reaching a crisis.
