Why This Matters

A grant runs out. An endowed chair does not.

Fore the Kids funded this position to the prominent chair level, the first of its kind at Children's Mercy. It sits within the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Sciences.

The chair is a permanent position dedicated to research that prevents suicide and treats anxiety, depression, and mood disorders in adolescents. Dr. Rebecca Johnson currently holds it.
